Hi everyone, I was just thinking of going out and trying to get some hair done in the new year and a half. I had heard some people say that they get more hair than they need and they were just not sure. So I did some research and saw some articles about this and I am wondering if anyone knows if there are any good hair products out there, other than Propecia, that have been around for quite a while. I think I will try my best to help but I think some of them can really help with the hair loss or thinning I am currently experiencing and even if it doesn't seem like it can cause a lot of pain.
I'm not sure if they do any good, but I think there are some good products out there that can help with hair loss, like Finasteride, which is pretty much a miracle drug for the scalp. I have some good ones in my office here in South Africa and I have seen some really good reviews about Propecia (it is the same thing) but it's not an easy thing to get into. So I think I would rather get a few treatments for hair loss before trying the hair restoration drugs.
Thanks again everyone!
I'm also considering going out in the new year, but would love some advice on what to look out for in the new year so that we could take a look at the latest hair restoration products and see if there are any new ones out there.
Also, have you got any advice on what to do when you get in the new year? I am pretty much feeling like I am losing my hair all year round and the only thing that I have lost is my head. I am really hoping it will be something new for me to see how I look and I hope my new head looks good again.
Thanks everyone for the advice!
I will make sure to post my reviews and I am so glad I have a new head. I am hoping it is something that will make my head look good again.
I am looking into a drug that can help me with hair loss. I know that propecia has some success but I am not too worried about hair loss. I just want to feel more confident and look good and not have to worry about hair loss.
The hair loss is something I have been suffering with for years. I have been using Propecia for about two years, but since then I have started to get hair loss in the form of thinning on the scalp. I am also using minoxidil and finasteride.

How does the hair on your head grow?On average your hair grows about 1 centimetre (half an inch) each month. Hair growsfrom hair follicles, which are located under your skin.
A single scalp hair grows continuously for 2-4 years (growth phase) and then stopsgrowing for 2-4 months (rest phase). After this the hair falls out. In its place a newhealthy hair begins to grow, and the cycle is repeated. The hairs on your scalp arealways in different stages of this cycle so it is normal to lose scalp hair every day.
What is male pattern hair loss?
Male pattern hair loss is a common condition in which men experience thinning of thehair on the scalp, often resulting in a receding hairline and/or balding on the top of thehead. This condition is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic factors and aparticular hormone, DHT (dihydrotestosterone).
DHT causes a decrease in the growth phase and thinning of the hair (see picture). Thisleads to male pattern hair loss. These changes can start to occur in some men in their20s and become more common with age. Once hair loss has occurred over a longperiod of time, the hair may be permanently lost.

Finasteride works by preventing the re-growth of hair follicles. This increases the number of hair regrowth hairs available for sale in the current supply.
Finasteride can slow down the progress of male pattern hair loss by about25-31% once hair loss has begin. It can also cause temporary loss of hair when the scalp is dry. This can be prevented by following a healthy diet and exercise.
There are some individuals who are more susceptible to this process. See picture.

Propecia (finasteride 1mg) is prescribed for men and women with male pattern baldness, also known as androgenetic alopecia. This condition is caused by a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is responsible for hair loss. DHT is not only a part of the male sex hormone, but also plays a significant role in the production of testosterone. The medication may also be prescribed to men who are at increased risk of developing prostate cancer.
Propecia is known to cause male pattern hair loss. DHT is produced by the adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing testosterone.
The most common prescription drug prescribed for hair loss is finasteride, commonly known as Propecia. It works by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body, which is responsible for the development of male pattern baldness. This medication is also effective in preventing further hair loss in women. In some cases, it is used to treat androgenetic alopecia, a hereditary pattern of hair loss.
If you’re concerned about your hair loss, it’s crucial to talk to your healthcare provider. They can advise you on the best treatment options and ensure that you receive a prescription.
